Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position involves working in Radiology/Cardiology specialty with a focus on Interventional Radiology procedures.
  • Shift: First shift, Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (staggered start between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM).
  • Call rotation includes primary call approximately one day every 4 weeks and every 5th-6th weekend, plus backup call about 7 days every 9 weeks.
  • No float requirement.
  • Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents.
  • Daily case load: 13-17 cases.
  • Procedures include stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral interventions, biopsies, drainages, vascular and neurological studies, and venous access.
  • Equipment experience required with Siemens and Phillips x-ray systems; Acuson preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient hospital setting
  • Neuro experience
  • One completed travel assignment; must have prior travel experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
  • BLS certification
  • ARRT certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT Advanced Certification preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC and McKesson systems preferred.
  • Exposure to outpatient, OR, ER, Level I trauma, teaching hospital, community hospital settings, and ablations is a plus.

Patient Care & Environment

  • Patient diagnoses include neurological conditions (including stroke intervention) and body procedures.
  • Work environment includes inpatient hospital setting with a Level I trauma center.
  • Scrubs are provided.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background check within 6 months required for clinical candidates.
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 6 months required.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year required; additional documentation needed if history of positive TB.
  • Immunizations and titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
  • Physical exam and other health documents per travel agency standards.
  • Radiation badge required for this role.
  • Completion of hospital-specific orientation, safety, confidentiality, and compliance training mandatory.
  • Color blindness testing and competency exams as applicable.
  • Medication safety training and other facility-specific education modules required.

Additional Notes

  • No return to office (RTO) after booking; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
  • Candidate must be available for interview within 72 hours of submission.
  • Photo ID and passport-style photo required for badge creation prior to start.
  • Must complete all required documentation and training before starting assignment.

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology professionals with prior travel experience seeking a 13-week contract in a hospital setting with a structured call schedule and diverse procedural exposure.
