Description
Job Opportunity: Trauma ICU Registered Nurse
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shifts, 12 hours each (1900 - 0730)
- 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Every other weekend rotation and some holidays required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance and Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems after hire
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID form required prior to start
- Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines
- Physical exam collected to meet agency standards (not facility required)
- Immunization and health document requirements including:
- TB testing and questionnaire (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or approved exemption
- Varicella vaccination or approved exemption
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form if applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Other vaccines or declinations as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal for certain departments)
Testing and Competency Requirements
- Telemetry pass/fail testing (Adult and Pediatric as applicable) with strict passing criteria and remediation process
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams required
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
Documentation and Other Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
- Employment application and references (2 clinical references within last 3 years)
- Education verification as applicable
- Signed acknowledgments for safety and testing
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- All certifications must be current and issued by the appropriate organizations (e.g., AHA for BLS/ACLS)
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific and state-mandated documentation and screening requirements before starting
