Description

Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Norfolk, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
Types of visits include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic, with typical weekly travel between 100-150 miles.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (standard 5x8 hours). Some positions may have a 4x10 schedule (Friday-Monday).
Charting system: Proficiency required in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) within the last 6 months; RNs must also be proficient in OASIS. Retraining required if last use was over 6 months ago.
Dress code: Scrubs.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Minimum 1 year of recent Home Health experience, including experience working with adult patients.
Hospice experience.
Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS documentation systems.
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
