Physical Therapist – Inpatient

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in adult and pediatric acute inpatient settings including ICUs, acute rehab, skilled nursing, and outpatient areas.
• Patient population includes trauma (Level 1 & 2), neuro, ortho, cardiac, stroke specialty, oncology, med-surg, and pediatric inpatient rehab.
• Department treats approximately 120-150 patients daily; therapists perform about 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per day.
• Coverage may include all listed patient areas.

Schedule & Work Hours

• Day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
• Variable scheduling; self-scheduling is not allowed.
• Weekend and holiday work required with compensatory days off scheduled.
• Work hours typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including rotational weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license for Wisconsin.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Experience beneficial in adult ICU, acute neuro, trauma, ortho, and cardiac patient care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, flexibility, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to perform mobility evaluations and document justification for next level of care.

Onboarding & Credentialing

• Must complete client credentialing process before starting; credentialing meetings occur monthly with up to 10 additional business days for processing.
• All onboarding, including Wisconsin state license verification, must be completed by the 2nd Monday of the month to avoid delayed start dates.
• Entire submission to start process can take up to 2 months or longer depending on candidate readiness.
• Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have a minimum 6-month gap since last employment.
• All clinicians are required to clock in and out at the facility.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Any solid color, clean and professional attire.
• Department orientation varies based on skill level.
• Rehab support includes 1 rehab aide and 3 PTAs per shift.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in relevant inpatient settings is implied; experience in ICU, trauma, neuro, ortho, and cardiac care is highly beneficial.
• No explicit prior travel experience required.
