Description
Job Opportunity: PreOp Registered Nurse
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Day/Evening shifts, 10 hours each (8:30 AM – 8:30 PM)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of PreOp / PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Pre-Op nursing experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance and Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID Form (state-mandated)
- Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
- Education verification as applicable
- Physical exam (collected to meet agency standard, not facility required)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray with questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers, with medical/religious exemptions accepted
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer, with exemptions accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form if applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Other vaccines or declinations as required by specific departments
Testing and Competency Exams
- Telemetry Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required before start and updated annually
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- Remediation and retesting process in place for Telemetry exams (up to 3 attempts allowed)
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
- Signed acknowledgment of Joint Commission Training Safety Manual
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Telemetry test is mandatory and must be passed before starting the assignment.
- All certifications must be current and issued by the American Heart Association where applicable.
- Strict compliance with background checks and health documentation is required before start date.
