Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: ASAP, preferably within 2 weeks of offer acceptance
• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3 shifts of 12 hours per week)
• Hours per week: 36
• Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Job Description

• Provide patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership for safe delivery of care
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel
• Float pool position: must be willing to float between multiple departments and facilities
• Units included in float pool: 2 Medical-Surgical (Ortho/Neuro) units, Telemetry, possibly Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and occasionally Emergency Department holding area for admitted patients
• Typically assigned to one unit per shift; rare occasions of moving units due to census
• Patient ratios: generally 6:1 on units, 4-5:1 in ED holding area

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
