Description

Registered Nurse – Correctional Facility

Location: Moravia, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Job Description

Work in a medium security male correctional facility.
Responsible for sick call management, medication administration, insulin administration, triaging sick calls, and tool control.
Handle emergencies including Narcan administration, physical force injuries, asthma rescue, employee accidents/injuries, and sexual abuse/assault reporting.
Maintain health records and perform administrative duties related to inmate death.
All shifts and hours available; holidays are optional.
No cell phones allowed inside the facility.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
Minimum of 1 year of correctional nursing experience, with correctional experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
