Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Eatontown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Hours: 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week
Schedule: No weekends, no call
Cases: 8-10 cases per day
Job Description
- Work in a summer-friendly Jersey Shore location.
- Strong myocardial knowledge and skills required.
- Experience with GE and Siemens equipment preferred.
- Use of EPIC charting system.
- Scrub color is flexible.
- Locals and first-time travelers accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Jersey.
- Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year.
- Certification: ARRT required.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience with GE Healthcare equipment.
Documentation and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID and driver's license required within 48 hours of signing.
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start; no open cases allowed.
- E-Verify clearance required.
- Multiple background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific exclusions.
- Attestation required if background check is pending at start.
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history.
- Two professional references within the last 2 years (one managerial).
- New Jersey work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start.
- Skills checklist updated annually.
Certifications & Training
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or equivalent required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Preferred but not explicitly required for this role.
- Other certifications (e.g., NRP, PALS) not required for this specialty.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 72 hours of signing.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of signing.
- IV Therapy/Infusion exam required within 72 hours of signing.
- Pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication) required with remediation policy.
- Annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission training acknowledgment.
- Facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start; additional clearance if history of positive TB.
- Drug screen (10-panel urine) within 30 days of start.
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
- Fit test and respiratory medical clearance required prior to start; on-site fit testing mandatory.
- Latex allergy screening questionnaire required if job tasks involve glove use.
- Color blindness test required if job tasks require color discrimination.
- Hepatitis B immunity confirmed by titer or vaccination compliance.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity confirmed by titer or vaccination.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within past 10 years required.
Additional Notes
- Any time off or schedule requests must be submitted with application and approved before offer.
- Candidates must bring all required documentation to orientation.
- Candidates with name changes must provide proof and ensure all names are included in background checks.
- On-site fit testing requires clean-shaven face unless approved accommodation is provided.
- Facility requires completion of floating policy for every new assignment or site transfer.
- Candidates switching between sites with less than 30-day gap may reuse some documentation.
