Description
Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location: Lexington, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Patient visits: 6-7 patients per day on busy days
- Role involves traveling between patient homes in a rural area
- Mileage reimbursement provided at $0.50/mile
- May float to other nearby offices as needed
- Weekend work preferred once per month if possible
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Proficient in nursing assessment and documentation, specifically OASIS charting experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience in a Home Health setting
Scheduling and Policies
- All requests for time off must be submitted with application and approved at booking
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Locals within 100 miles accepted but limited to one 13-week assignment with no extension eligibility
- Locals living less than 50 miles subject to a reduced pay rate (not included here)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address more than 100 miles from the facility required within 48 hours of signing
- Background check covering the last 7 years required within 1 year of start date
- E-Verify or attestation required
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required for RNs within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if previously positive, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccination documentation or signed declination form required during flu season
- Photo for badge with specific background requirements
- Completion of new hire paperwork, compliance checklists, and orientation manual acknowledgment prior to start

- The area is rural, requiring significant travel between patient homes
- Virginia State Police Search will be completed onsite on the first day of orientation for Home Health candidates; no pre-start action required
