Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location: Lexington, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
• Patient visits: 6-7 patients per day on busy days
• Role involves traveling between patient homes in a rural area
• Mileage reimbursement provided at $0.50/mile
• May float to other nearby offices as needed
• Weekend work preferred once per month if possible

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Proficient in nursing assessment and documentation, specifically OASIS charting experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in a Home Health setting

Scheduling and Policies

• All requests for time off must be submitted with application and approved at booking
• Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Locals within 100 miles accepted but limited to one 13-week assignment with no extension eligibility
• Locals living less than 50 miles subject to a reduced pay rate (not included here)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address more than 100 miles from the facility required within 48 hours of signing
• Background check covering the last 7 years required within 1 year of start date
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification required for RNs within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if previously positive, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu vaccination documentation or signed declination form required during flu season
• Photo for badge with specific background requirements
• Completion of new hire paperwork, compliance checklists, and orientation manual acknowledgment prior to start
