Primary Care LVN / LPN - Travel/Contract

Location: Cohoes, New York
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

• Provide nursing care including services requiring sterile techniques.
• Conduct medical diagnostic tests for pre-employment, occupational health, and return-to-work physicals using equipment such as blood pressure cuffs, vision machine (ortho-rater), hearing machine, electrocardiography (ECG) machine, respirator fit machine, and spirometer.
• Calibrate and adjust instruments and independently record test results.
• Administer blood and blood products.
• Package blood specimens with chain of custody for blood alcohol testing.
• Obtain urine samples for drug testing, including chain of custody documentation.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and data entry.
• Conduct vital signs and blood pressure checks.
• Provide pre-employment screenings (e.g., TB testing) and immunizations (Hepatitis B, MMR, TD, influenza) as required.
• Serve as a resource for health information.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in New York.
• Minimum of 1 year of LPN / LVN experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience in Family Practice.

Additional Information

• This is a travel/contract position.
• The job involves working in a primary care setting during daytime hours.
