Description
Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry
Location
- Rochester, New York

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (07:00 – 19:00)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Available to work every other holiday, if needed
Unit Details
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Floating: Required to float within skillset
- Uniform: Navy blue and white scrub colors
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

- Specialty: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry
- Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN competency for MS/Telemetry units
- Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
- Locals: RNs within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel role
Health and Compliance Requirements
Candidates must complete the following health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of contract signing:
- Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Fit mask test (annual)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
- TB questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
- Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Background and Verification
- Government-issued photo ID required
- 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
- Education verification from primary source (no hard copy degrees)
- Foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
- Employment application and work history verification (minimum 2 past employments)
- References: 2 references within 3 years (required for agency direct hires)
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
Certifications (as required by unit)
- ACLS (AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted)
- PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams
- Color blindness testing (one-time)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must submit time-off and special scheduling requests at time of application
- The client may cancel up to three shifts during the contract without penalty
- Facility is Magnet-recognized and an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
- The hospital offers specialized services including cardiac, cancer, neuroscience, pediatric emergency, birthing, and advanced surgical programs
