Description
Pediatric RN Position - Massachusetts
Job Details
- Location: Charlestown, Massachusetts
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: Rotating Day/Evening shifts (07:00 - 15:30), every other weekend
- Shift Length: Combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, with pediatric experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements (Must be current and documented prior to start)
- N95 Respirator Fit Test (within 365 days, updated annually; no exemptions allowed)
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test: Negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start, updated if break >6 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) Immunity: Documentation of vaccination or immunity via blood test
- Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days, updated if break >6 months
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray documentation (optional but recommended)
Background and Compliance Checks (Must be current and documented prior to start)
- Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months
- Social Security Number Trace (addresses/aliases for past 7 years)
- National Sex Offender Registry Check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Exclusion Checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Documentation and Submission Requirements
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
- Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the skillset
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission
- Candidate submission coversheet (current version)
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for any assignment changes
- Nurse Aide Registry check within 30 days of start (required by MA Department of Public Health for all employees)
- Education verification through background check company (highest level achieved)
- Fit Test Record Form and Respirator Medical Clearance questionnaire must be uploaded
- Orientation summary specific to the facility required prior to start
Additional Notes
- No onsite fit testing available; must be completed prior to start
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for fit testing
- Updates to fit testing can be done at designated locations if assignment is extended
- Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential documentation
This position is suitable for Pediatric RNs seeking a rotating day/evening schedule with every other weekend off, requiring compliance with comprehensive health, safety, and background verification protocols.
