Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Media, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes
• Floating: Required to float within scope to similar units
• Block Scheduling: Accommodated
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles (different rate)
• Pending license not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Special Requirements

• Experience with ER holding, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, and Telemetry units
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 6 months prior to start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated every 3 years
• SAM/GSA and OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education verification (diploma, degree, or transcripts) required
• NURSYS verification required for RN license
• References: 3 required (most recent manager, previous manager, peer)
• Employment application and skills checklist required

  • Department of Aging Fingerprints

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam or statement of good health within 1 year prior to assignment, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year prior to start, updated annually (specific approved masks required)
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold or T-Spot) within 6 months prior to start; chest x-ray if positive test
• Annual TB questionnaire required for positive TB test or in lieu of annual TB test renewal
• Immunizations:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 vaccines or positive IgG titer; boosters if negative
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive IgG titer; boosters if negative
  • Hepatitis B – Titer plus vaccine series or declination
  • Tdap vaccine recommended every 10 years (not required)
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 45 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept–April 1); mask required if exempt
• Respirator clearance within 1 year prior to start, updated annually

Additional Notes

• On-call is not required
• Return-to-Office restrictions are at manager’s discretion
• Documentation such as I9, driver’s license/state ID, and E-Verify must be retained by staffing agency
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
• Facility-specific confidentiality agreement must be reviewed and signed
• HealthStream and other facility-required training modules must be completed prior to start date

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts, floating between units, and working in an acute care setting with a focus on cardiac rhythm management and Epic documentation.
