Description
Travel RN – Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology
Location: Denver, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Unit Information
- Unit: Infusion – 3B
- Beds: 55 beds, 176 chairs
- Core Staff: 86
- Shift Options:
- Day: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (four 10-hour shifts) or 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (three 12-hour shifts)
- Night shifts: Not available
- Weekend/Holiday Work: May be required based on staffing needs
- Patient Ratios: Variable depending on acuity and volume
- Equipment: Baxter infusion pumps
- EMR Systems: Meditech and OncoEMR
Job Description
- Provide outpatient infusion care for transplant and oncology patients, including support for transplant cellular therapy and apheresis programs.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, lymphodepleting chemotherapy, blood products, IVIG, antibiotics, electrolyte replacements, and IV hydration.
- Perform Granix and Mozobil injections related to transplant/cellular therapy collections.
- Provide oversight for cellular procedures after required training.
- Support outpatient CAR T-cell infusions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Bone Marrow Transplant experience, with experience within the last year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in chemotherapy/biotherapy
- Experience in oncology, hematology, and/or transplant cellular therapy
- Competency in IV placement
- Experience administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, cellular therapy, blood products, antibiotics, IVIG, and IV fluids
- Experience caring for immunocompromised patients
