Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Wisconsin, Beaver Dam

Job Details

• Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days (Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Call Requirements:

  • Weeknight: 1 night per week, from case end until 6:30 AM the following day
  • Weekend: Every 3rd to 4th weekend, Friday 6:30 PM – Monday 6:30 AM
  • Holidays: Expected to work majority of holidays (2 out of 3 during winter)
  • Call response time: 30 minutes

Work Environment

• 6 OR suites and 2 GI suites
• Average 12 cases per day
• Common cases include:

  • Total joint replacements
  • ORIFs (Open Reduction Internal Fixation)
  • Tendon repairs
  • Hernia repairs
  • Cholecystectomy
  • Appendectomy
  • Robotic bowel resection
  • Endoscopic sinus surgery
  • Pediatric tonsil and adenoid surgeries
  • Eye surgeries (cataracts, blepharoplasty) – teaching available
• EMR system: Cerner
• Scrubbing: Preferred but not required
• Charge nurse role involves mostly department management
• Occasional floating opportunities to Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical, or Long-Term Care units depending on comfort level
• Dress code: Gray scrubs provided by facility

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience
• Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
• Certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA)
• Experience or skills preferred in:

  • General surgery
  • Orthopedics (total joints)
  • Robotics
  • Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures

Orientation

• Up to 4 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation, including cataract surgeries

Additional Notes

• Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
