Surgical Tech – Bloomington, Illinois
Job Details

- Hours: 12 hours per day, approximately 36 hours per week
- Unit: Operating Room Tech
- Number of Suites: 6
- Average Cases per Day: 12-15
Job Description
- Must be experienced in General, Orthopedic, and Neurosurgery cases; applications without this experience will be declined.
- Preferred experience with robotic systems such as Mako and DaVinci.
- Common case types include General, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynecology, Colorectal, ENT, DaVinci robotics, Plastics, and Cardiovascular surgeries.
- Charge Nurse coverage during operating hours with no patient assignments; may assist with cases if needed.
- Scheduling may include self-scheduling or block scheduling (not guaranteed), depending on need.
- Call requirements:
- Weeknight call: Approximately 5-6 shifts every 6 weeks
- Weekend call: 48-hour call about every 5th-6th weekend
- Holiday call: Call only
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- No floating requirements.
- Orientation: 3-5 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation, 12-hour day shifts.
- Scrubs provided by hospital; dedicated OR shoes required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
- Active Illinois Surgical Tech license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels.
Additional Information
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius.
- Orientation hours (12 hours) are non-billable and guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
- Call off policy allows the equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty or pay obligation.
- Required submission information includes last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off.
