Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Overview

  • Specialty: Renal Medicine, Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Unit Size: 18 beds
  • Staff:
    • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 4 floor nurses, 1 HUC, 1 CNA
    • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 4 floor nurses, 1 HUC/CNA
  • Patient Ratios: RN 1:4 to 1:6; CNA 1:9 to 1:18
  • Equipment: Mobilization and lift equipment, cyclers for peritoneal dialysis, scales
  • EMR System: Cerner

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Peritoneal dialysis and general dialysis experience
  • Certifications:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Certified Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse
  • Experience with Cerner EMR

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Flexible, compassionate, and adaptable to change
  • May float to similar units or serve as a sitter if needed
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
  • Weekend and holiday shifts rotate
  • Follow hospital policies and procedures

  • This is a travel assignment requiring specialized renal/peritoneal dialysis nursing skills
  • Tele in the job title refers to Telemetry unit experience
