CT Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dayton, Ohio
Shift: Evening, 3 shifts per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), 2:30 PM – 3:00 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Independently perform computed tomography (CT) procedures using proper techniques and administration of contrast media.
• Operate CT equipment and perform venipuncture within scope of practice and licensure.
• Coordinate patient flow and CT scanner activities.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition using professional judgment.
• May perform procedures in other imaging modalities as needed.
• May have on-call responsibilities.
• Must be available to work every other holiday.

Required Education

• Associate degree in Allied Health, majoring in Radiologic Technology or related field.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Current CPR certification.
• ARRT RT (R) registry required.
• CT registry preferred.
• Ohio Department of Health (ODH) licensure required.

Required Experience

• Specialty experience in Radiology / Cardiology (CT Tech).
• No explicit years of experience stated; assume minimum competency to work independently in CT.

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• E-Verify compliance per contract.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, national sex offender registry, and other federal/state checks.
• Education verification (primary source) for all non-RN candidates.
• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness to work and free of communicable diseases.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray; annual TB questionnaire if past positive.
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months; includes marijuana panel.
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually.
• Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date.
• Two professional references within 2 years (one must be a manager/supervisor).
• Current resume or employment application.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work every other holiday.
• Facility reserves the right to cancel shifts or contract with notice.
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficient in diagnostic radiographic procedures and contrast media administration.
• Ability to operate CT equipment and perform venipuncture safely.
• Coordinate patient flow efficiently within the Radiology Department.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment.
• Flexibility to perform other imaging modalities as needed.

Work Hours

• 36 hours per week, scheduled as three 12-hour evening shifts (Fri-Sun).

Prior Travel Experience

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate degree in Allied Health with a major in Radiologic Technology
• ARRT RT (R) certification
• Current BLS certification
