Description

RN Oncology/Infusion

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in an ambulatory oncology/infusion unit.
  • Work schedule primarily 4 shifts of 10 hours each (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM).
  • May require a few weeks of 5 shifts of 8 hours each (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM).
  • Oncology experience with ONS chemo/bio/immunotherapy provider card strongly preferred and/or infusion experience.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS not required.
  • Candidate must have own transportation.
  • Flu vaccine is mandatory.
  • Shared housing available with restrictions (no guests, no pets).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 1 year of infusion experience, with infusion experience within the last year.
  • Oncology nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Flu vaccine required.
  • N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed).
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed.
  • Documentation of TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
  • If positive TB test, documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test is required (optional but recommended).
  • Documentation of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) via vaccination records or blood titer.
  • Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.

Background and Credentialing Requirements

  • Primary source verification of RN license and certifications within 30 days of start date; must be updated upon expiration.
  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
  • Social Security Number trace as part of background check covering last 7 years.
  • Education verification of highest degree achieved (not required for CNA).
  • Confirmation of assignment/POI form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
  • Candidate submission coversheet and skills checklist required for submission.
  • Fit test and respirator medical clearance documentation must be uploaded prior to onboarding.

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

  • No ACLS certification required.
