Description
Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Savannah, Georgia
Job Overview
- Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Location: Savannah, GA
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 12-hour shifts (start between 6:00 - 6:30 AM), approximately 36 hours per week
- Call Requirement: Yes
- One weekday per week
- One weekend per 5 weeks
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Call rotation includes holidays
- Work Environment: Smoke-free, faith-based hospital campus
- Number of OR Suites: 19
- Average Cases per Day: 30-40
- Case Types: General, Neuro, Vascular, Orthopedic, Robotic surgeries
- Floating: Occasionally between two main ORs; no ambulatory surgery assignments
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience
- Prior travel assignment experience required (at least one previous travel contract)
- Active Georgia RN license
- BLS Certification required
- Meditech experience highly preferred
- Experience circulating in General, Neuro, Vascular, Ortho, and Robotic cases
- Scrubbing skills are a plus but not required
- Must have a positive attitude and eagerness to work
Additional Requirements
- Strict 100-mile radius rule: local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted; traveler’s permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the facility
- Submission must include:
- Current NURSYS report (no license issues allowed)
- Full availability including all requested time off
- Start date aligned with compliance timelines
- Current references in the same specialty/modality
- Resume details: number of beds and trauma level of facilities worked at in past 3 years, employment type (permanent, travel, or PRN), and number of shifts worked per month if PRN
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation starts weekly on Mondays (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday)
- Onboarding must be completed at least 7 calendar days before start date
Work Culture & Benefits
- Breaks: 15-minute morning break and 30-minute lunch break
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor coverage during shifts
