ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Spokane, Washington

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
  • Location: Spokane, Washington
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Unit Floating: Yes, will float between units
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Block Schedules: Required
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 and 1:2
  • Special Requirements: Cardiovascular ICU experience required
  • On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state
  • Minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, with recent CVICU experience within the last year
  • Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO; must indicate ability to work with or without accommodation
  • Immunizations and Testing:
    • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; annual updates required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination; titers accepted
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination accepted
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols
  • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months; instants acceptable; updated as needed
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for respirator use; completed via virtual questionnaire for travel candidates
  • Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates; must be updated annually; may be completed onsite

Competency and Training Requirements

  • Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency and other exams as applicable by specialty
  • EFM Training: Required for Labor & Delivery RNs (via certification or fetal heart rate monitoring exam)
  • Annual Regulatory and Specialty-Specific Training: Must complete assigned modules annually via LMS (Workramp)
  • Epic Training: Completion of required Epic modules within one week of orientation; transcripts required prior to moving to per diem or new assignments

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required prior to start
  • Float Policy Acknowledgement: Required; candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities
  • State-Specific Requirements: Washington state background and patrol searches required within 90 days of start; updated every 2 years for certain facility types
  • Multi-State Licensed Nurses: Demographic attestation required for RNs working with out-of-state compact licenses in Washington
