Description
Hospice Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract hospice nursing role in Massachusetts
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- 13-week assignment
- 40 hours per week
- Home health/hospice setting with home visits and periodic office meetings
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care based on physician orders and agency policies
- Use the nursing process to direct patient care
- Supervise and evaluate home health aides and licensed practical/vocational nurses
- Typical caseload is 5–8 patients per day
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of hospice experience
- Hospice experience within the last year
- Experience in a Home Health setting
- Experience with OASIS
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- One completed travel assignment
- Driver's License
- Reliable transportation
- Agency-required liability insurance
Clinical / Documentation Requirements
- Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase and have used it within the last 6 months
- OASIS proficiency required for RNs
- Hospice experience is preferred
Work Conditions
- Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic
- Territory includes the Merrimack Valley, greater Lowell, and Haverhill areas
- Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
- Local candidates are accepted
- No weekend rotation
- No on-call requirement

- Scrubs required
- No guaranteed hours
- First-time travelers are not accepted
