Description

Hospice Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract hospice nursing role in Massachusetts
Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
13-week assignment
40 hours per week
Home health/hospice setting with home visits and periodic office meetings

Key Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate home nursing care based on physician orders and agency policies
Use the nursing process to direct patient care
Supervise and evaluate home health aides and licensed practical/vocational nurses
Typical caseload is 5–8 patients per day

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
1 year of hospice experience
Hospice experience within the last year
Experience in a Home Health setting
Experience with OASIS
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
One completed travel assignment
Driver's License
Reliable transportation
Agency-required liability insurance

Clinical / Documentation Requirements

Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase and have used it within the last 6 months
OASIS proficiency required for RNs
Hospice experience is preferred

Work Conditions

Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic
Territory includes the Merrimack Valley, greater Lowell, and Haverhill areas
Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
Local candidates are accepted
No weekend rotation
No on-call requirement

Additional Notes

Scrubs required
No guaranteed hours
First-time travelers are not accepted
