Registered Nurse

Location

• Marshfield, Wisconsin

Contract

• 20 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience

Unit Details

• Medical-surgical telemetry unit
• 29 beds
• Common patient populations include orthopedic trauma, vascular, urology, neuro-spine, OB/GYN oncology, and acute medical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days, 1:5-6 on nights
• RN titration of drips is required following a prescribed nomogram
• Telemetry techs monitor strips; RNs do not need to read strips
• Charge nurse takes an assignment on all shifts
• Nursing assistants are present on the unit
• Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy; no vents

Schedule

• Shift times: 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, 11:00 AM-11:30 PM, or 11:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No call or standby

Responsibilities

• Float to other adult medical-surgical nursing units

Orientation

• 1 day of computer training
• 1-2 precepted floor orientation

Additional Notes

• Clean, professional attire in any color
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Candidates who have previously worked for the facility must have ended employment at least 6 months before submission
