Description

Behavioral Health RN Travel Assignment

Location

Kansas City, Missouri

Contract

13 weeks
36 hours per week
Travel assignment

Schedule

Three 12-hour shifts per day, seven days a week, including weekends
Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Psychiatric experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS
CPI

Unit Overview

Psychiatric behavioral health unit serving adolescent and adult patients
Patient populations include adolescent, lower-acuity adult, higher-acuity adult, senior-lifestyle, and lower-acuity adult groups
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 8:1

Key Responsibilities

Assess patients’ mental health status
Develop individualized care plans
Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support
Use therapeutic communication with patients
Monitor vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects

Additional Notes

Floating is based on greatest need
Required uniform: blue for nurses; green or black for MHTs
