ICU Travel Nurse

Overview

• Location: Roanoke, Virginia
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12s, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• Setting: Whole-house float across ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units

Key Responsibilities

• Float between ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units as needed
• Work with patient ratios of at least 1:5
• Perform ICU-level nursing care, including IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, trach management, non-invasive airway support, ventilator management, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Critical Care Float (2 years of experience)
• Critical Care Float experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Experience with Epic

Scheduling Requirements

• May be scheduled every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Floating may occur up to every 4 hours
• All requested time off, block scheduling, and special scheduling requests must be submitted with the application

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted
• The facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
