Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Potsdam, New York
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• CRT
• Experience with Epic

Key Clinical Skills

• Adult critical care and emergency department respiratory care
• Airway management, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene
• Aerosol therapy and inhaled medication delivery
• Noninvasive ventilation and high-flow nasal cannula support
• Mechanical ventilation weaning and high-pressure alarm troubleshooting
• ABG interpretation

Unit / Work Setting

• 24/7 in-house respiratory therapy department
• May cover ICU, ER, med-surg, pediatrics, and newborn stabilization
• May work alone or with another therapist
• Primarily adult population, but must be comfortable caring for newborns and pediatric patients
• May occasionally perform EKGs after hours in support of cardiology
• May provide care to COVID-19 patients
• Scrubs: any color

Equipment

• Preferred ventilators: Servo I, LTV, Hamilton T1

Compliance / Onboarding

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check, education verification, license verification, and work history verification required
• Physical exam, fit mask, TB screening, drug screening, flu documentation, and immunization records required before start
• Competency testing and required onboarding modules must be completed before start
