Description

ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel position in Salt Lake City, Utah
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • Night shift schedule: straight nights or 50/50

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Utah
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of ICU experience (or 1 year of strong ICU experience)
  • CVICU (2 years of experience)
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • Cardiac nurse experience
  • ACLS

Unit Details

  • ICU with 24 beds
  • Typical patient ratio is 1:2
  • Higher-acuity assignments may include 1:1 coverage for sitters, IABP, CRRT, and open hearts
  • Staffing includes 46 staff members
  • Unit secretary and tech support available during day shift when census is above 10 patients

  • Rapid sequence intubations
  • Central line placements
  • Ventilator management
  • Vasopressor management
  • Restraint use
  • Arterial line management
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Intubation
  • Chest tube placement

Scheduling and Floating

  • Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
  • May float to PCU or serve as a sitter anywhere in the inpatient hospital
