Description

ICU / Step-Down ICU RN

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment type: Contract
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks

Overview

Experienced RN needed for ICU and Step-Down ICU care, with willingness to float to Step-Down ICU.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Stepdown experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act
  • Document according to standards of care
  • Develop, initiate, and execute individualized plans of care, including patient and family instruction
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
  • Use critical thinking to support patient safety and patient experience, and escalate appropriately
