Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Rochester, New York
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 15-week assignment
- Every other weekend required
- Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- Experience with Epic
- IV therapy (blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs)
- IV vasopressors
- CPAP/BiPAP
- Ventilator management
- Cardiac monitoring (interpretation and management of dysrhythmias)
- Stroke experience
- Neuro Trauma experience
- Ortho Trauma experience
Clinical Experience / Skills
- Adult emergency department experience
- IV therapy, including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- IV vasopressors
- CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
- Stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care
- Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Adult and pediatric emergency care, including gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma
- Isolation precautions and triage
- Pediatric spinal cord injury care
Assignment Details
- Patient ratio: 1:5
- Floating required within skillset
- Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white
