Description

Behavioral Health RN Travel Contract

Location

  • Roanoke, Virginia

Job Type

  • Travel/Contract

Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 3x12 hours
  • 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • 4x12 available by request

Contract Length

  • 26 weeks

Unit Overview

  • Adult inpatient medical-surgical behavioral health unit
  • 12 beds
  • Care for patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders
  • Multidisciplinary care model focused on patient safety, recovery-oriented treatment, medication management, behavioral support, and discharge planning

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Behavioral Health experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Behavioral Health experience
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • CPI
  • Proficiency in Medical/Surgical care with experience in use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Skilled in peripheral line care and management
  • Skilled in non-invasive airway management
  • Med Surg experience
  • Experience with Epic

Additional Job Details

  • May float within skillset
  • May work as charge nurse
  • May be required to precept
  • Weekend requirement may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
  • One holiday required per 13-week contract
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Pending license accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state; otherwise an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license is required
  • 1:6 patient ratio
