Description

MS/Tele RN

Overview

  • Travel/Contract RN position in Rochester, New York
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
  • 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Ratios: nights expected to be 6–7:1, stretching to 8–10:1 if staff calls in
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
  • No on-call requirement
  • No locals accepted within 75 miles
  • Pending license not accepted
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
  • ED - Emergency Department experience
  • Experience with Epic
  • Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement
  • Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Must be able to use Rapid Response Teams
  • Must be able to provide peripheral line care/management
  • Must be able to use nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, and non-invasive airway management
  • Must follow isolation precautions
  • Must float within scope to MS, ICU, and ED
  • Must have a government-issued photo ID
  • Must complete a 7-year criminal background check
  • Must complete EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Must complete education verification
  • Must complete state license verification
  • Must complete NURSYS verification
  • Must complete orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • Must complete competency exam and medication/pharmacology competency exam
  • Must complete color blind testing
  • Must complete physical exam
  • Must complete fit mask testing
  • Must complete negative TB or chest X-ray
  • Must complete TB questionnaire
  • Must provide rubeola, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/documentation
  • Must complete drug screening
  • Must provide flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • Must complete Snellen eye exam
  • Must complete employment application
  • Must complete skills checklist
  • Must complete references if required by Aya
  • Must complete work history verification
  • Must complete New York sex offender registry search
  • Must complete New York State Medicaid exclusion list check

  • Patient population includes cardiac and stroke
  • Special equipment includes hoyer lifts
  • PCTs are available on all units for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
