IR RN
Overview
- Role: IR RN
- Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: 4 ten-hour shifts per week, with call
Required Qualifications
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- Wisconsin or compact state RN license
- 2 years cath lab experience
- Must have IABP experience
Department Details
- Department: IR RN
- 7 rooms total: 4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR
- Average volume: 20+ cases per day across all rooms
- Common IR cases include port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, g-tube placements, PICC and Central Line placements
- Neuro cases include coiling, thrombectomy, and embolization; anesthesia supports Neuro cases
Duties
- Verify orders and consent
- Perform head-to-toe assessment and patient education
- Set up room and circulate cases
- Administer moderate sedation and assist anesthesia providers
- Monitor hemodynamics continuously
- Document and coordinate with the team
Call and Scheduling
- Weeknight and weekend call rotation
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- May be asked to take holiday call
- Rotating day off
- Will consider 5 eight-hour shifts from 7:00 to 15:30
Staffing and Orientation
- Daily staffing:
- Cath Lab: 1 RN, 3 Techs
- EP: 3 to 4 person team
- IR: 1 RN, 2 Techs
- STEMI call team: 4 people, including 1 RN and 3 Techs
- Orientation usually includes 2 to 3 full days of training/shadowing and buddy call
- No call the first week; second week on call with a buddy, then independently
Additional Notes
- Provided scrubs; own scrub caps allowed
- No floating
- Previous employees from this facility are not accepted
- Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- If the clinician has ever worked for Marshfield, they must have an end date at least 6 months before submission
