Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab (Contract)
Location: New York, NY

Summary
Provide safe, competent, quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab, applying nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice within a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Deliver patient care based on Relationship Centered Care and nursing process.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs using critical thinking.
- Integrate assessment and intervention skills in nursing care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and evaluate care plans.
- Prioritize patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, discharge planning, and delegation.
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and care team members.
- Manage assignments within Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model.
Patient Experience
- Role model Relationship Centered Care practices (e.g., Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding).
- Respect patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Use evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions of care.
- Initiate service recovery and escalate concerns as needed.
- Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.
Quality and Safety
- Practice safe, patient-centered care and identify barriers to improvement.
- Demonstrate clinical skills essential to quality and safety.
- Implement process improvement strategies and participate in peer reviews.
- Collaborate on quality improvement projects and nursing research.
- Follow high reliability principles to avoid high-risk behaviors.
- Escalate safety hazards following institutional protocols.
- Document nursing practice accurately to support quality initiatives.
Operations
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Coordinate supply utilization and inventory management.
- Escalate material or staffing shortages appropriately.
- Apply cost-effective approaches to patient care resources.
- Facilitate patient throughput during shifts.
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation.

- Support clinical colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Advance clinical competence from novice to expert.
- Project a professional image demonstrating caring and empathy.
- Incorporate ethical principles in decision-making.

Qualifications
- Current NYS Registered Nurse License
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years RN experience, including telemetry and Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) experience
- EPIC experience highly preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience or active BSN matriculation
- Travel experience required for travel positions (not required for per diem)
Work Environment
- Average unit census: 2 labs, 5 beds
- Staffing guidelines: 11
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, including weekends
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
