CT Technologist Travel Job - Morristown, New Jersey

Position Overview

• Perform CT scans with professionalism and service excellence.
• Prepare and maintain medical, surgical, and radiological supplies according to protocols.
• Maintain sterility of field and instruments.
• Prepare requisitions accurately.
• Communicate with patients and families before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety while maintaining privacy and dignity.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.
• Verify patient identification per policy.
• Monitor patient condition before and after contrast injections; report changes to nursing staff and Radiologist.
• Ensure availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and patient history.
• Initiate emergency response if complications arise.
• Maintain linen, contrast media, biopsy/drainage supplies in scanning rooms.
• Follow room assignments and assist with inventory and storeroom maintenance.
• Participate in daily inventory, stocking, and cleaning of CT equipment and rooms.
• When assigned as Point staff:

  • Triage procedures according to schedule.
  • Coordinate emergency and unscheduled procedure requests.
  • Assign staff to maintain efficient workflow and patient safety.
  • Communicate patient status with departments and floors.
  • Ensure immediate patient transport post-procedure.
• Assist in routine procedures, assess patient tolerance to contrast, and screen for allergies/medication incompatibilities.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work area.
• Report equipment malfunctions to Coordinator or Lead.
• Maintain QA/QC requirements per daily, monthly, and ACR specifications.
• Recognize and report unusual equipment conditions.
• Follow venipuncture and power injector protocols.
• For urgent cases (Code Grey, Trauma), acquire, process, send, and verify images immediately per protocol.
• Notify Radiologist of any unusual findings to ensure optimal patient care.

Contract Length

• 10 weeks

Required Education

• High School diploma or GED
• Completion of Radiographer Technical training program from a School of Radiography or College-based Radiography program

Required Certifications & Licensure

• ARRT RT (R)
• ARRT RT (CT)
• NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License
• BLS Certification
