Description

Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Contract)

Location: New York, NY
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform CT procedures using appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic images.
  • Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on all CT equipment before patient studies.
  • Administer radioactive materials to patients as per physician orders and protocols.
  • Maintain thorough documentation including logs, manuals, charge documents, and report equipment issues to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests following radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principle).
  • Manage patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
  • Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use and verify receipt and activity levels on delivery day.
  • Exercise sound judgment to assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after procedures.

Requirements

  • Licensing: New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license (L.R.T) required.
  • Certifications:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT (current).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience.
  • Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program.
