Job Opportunity: RN - Med/Surg
Location: New York, NY
Contract Length: 13 weeks (89 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Job Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals
- Provide direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
- Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed; interpret and record measurements
- Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse medication reactions promptly
- Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care
- Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records
- Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital or post-acute facility, with the most recent experience within the past year
- Physical assessment skills
- Medication administration
- Wound care and infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
License Requirement
- Valid RN license appropriate for New York state
