Description
Job Opportunity: Associate Director of Nursing - IMC
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Shift: Nights, 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM
- Five days per week, every other weekend
- Some holiday shifts may be required
Position Summary
- Serve as off-shift weekend/holiday supervisor with overall responsibility for patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation on the unit.
- Lead clinical management, budgeting, financial and quality management aligned with hospital mission and values.
- Promote a patient-focused, culturally sensitive, and collaborative care environment involving physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and professional standards (e.g., CMS, IHI, CAP).
- Develop and implement quality and performance improvement programs.
- Use tracer methodology tools to create corrective action plans for ongoing quality care.
Operational Management
- Collaborate on personnel, supply, and equipment budget preparation and monitoring.
- Develop long-term staffing schedules ensuring adequate daily coverage.
- Monitor unit performance metrics including agency and overtime costs.
Clinical Practice & Patient Care
- Collaborate with Chief Nursing Officer to establish nursing care standards and evaluate staff compliance.
- Facilitate support services essential to patient care.
- Maintain a safe, caring environment conducive to health teaching and culturally sensitive care.
Management & Human Resources
- Lead unit planning processes and develop nursing care delivery plans.
- Use patient and staff satisfaction survey results to guide customer service and staff recruitment/retention strategies.
- Educate and evaluate staff; provide opportunities for professional growth and training.
- Establish unit metrics to measure retention strategy effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, including previous supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Creative problem-solving skills to improve programs and processes.
Physical Demands
- Involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, bending, and some repetitive motions.

Contract Length
- Approximately 13 weeks (89 days)
