Cat Scan Tech - New Jersey, Morristown
Job Summary
- Perform CT scanning procedures with professionalism and service excellence.
- Obtain and prepare necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies according to protocols.
- Maintain sterility of field and instruments.
- Prepare requisitions accurately.
- Communicate with patients and families before, during, and after procedures to alleviate anxiety while maintaining privacy and dignity.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and respect patient privacy.
- Verify patient identification according to policy.
- Monitor patient condition before and after contrast injections; report sudden changes to nursing staff and Radiologist.
- Ensure availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and patient history.
- Initiate emergency response in case of complications.
- Maintain adequate linen, contrast media, and biopsy/drainage supplies in scanning rooms.
- Adhere to room assignments and assist in maintaining storeroom and inventory.
- Participate in daily inventory, stocking, cleaning of CT gantry, table, peripheral equipment, and supplies.
- When assigned as Point staff:
- Triage procedures according to daily schedule.
- Coordinate emergency and unscheduled procedure requests.
- Assign staff to maintain efficient workflow and patient safety.
- Communicate patient status with departments and floors.
- Ensure immediate patient transport post-procedure.
- Assess patient ability to tolerate contrast; screen for allergies and medication incompatibilities.
- Maintain QA/QC requirements per daily, monthly, and ACR specifications.
- Recognize and report equipment malfunctions.
- Follow venipuncture and power injector protocols.
- For urgent cases (e.g., Code Grey, Trauma), acquire, process, send, and verify images immediately per protocol.
- Notify Radiologist of any unusual findings to ensure optimum patient care.
Shift
- Sunday: 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM (call included)
Contract Length
- Approximately 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
