Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 33 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
  • Perform intubation assistance, ventilator setup, and management.
  • Evaluate patient needs including disease education, testing, and consultations with healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
  • Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing at least 1 hour per day.
  • Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Information

  • Must have a strong sense of accountability and patient focus.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
  • Exceptional teamwork skills required.
  • Every other weekend and holidays required.

Hours & Schedule

  • 36 hours per week, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
