CT Technologist - Contract

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week (7 hours per day, Monday to Friday)
Contract Length: 9 weeks

Job Description

• Perform CT procedures using appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
• Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on all CT equipment before patient studies.
• Inject patients with radioactive material following physician orders and prescribed protocols.
• Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use and verify receipt and activity levels on delivery day.
• Maintain and manage patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Follow all department documentation policies, including logs, manuals, and charge documents.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests adhering to radiation safety guidelines and the ALARA principle.
• Exercise sound judgment to assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in New York
• Completion of a Radiologic Technologist program
• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
• ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience performing CT procedures using appropriate mA techniques
• Experience injecting radioactive material and verifying activity levels

Additional Information

• Workdays: Monday through Friday.
• Shift hours: Overnight shift from midnight to 8 AM.
• Emphasis on radiation safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
