CT Scan Technologist
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Contract Length: 11 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform complex CT procedures including computer tomography and related imaging techniques.
- Produce sectional and 3D images for interpretation and assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures.
- Use professional judgment to review and obtain patient clinical history, document and scan into PACS.
- Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires with patients/family and document in EPIC.
- Administer contrast media as prescribed and verify exam prescriptions with physicians.
- Verify insurance authorization and coordinate exam modifications as needed.
- Obtain and schedule outside studies for comparison by Radiologists.
- Provide exam copies to patients and requesting parties.
- Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality using PACS.
- Prepare patients for scanning including shielding and immobilization.
- Determine appropriate contrast type and dose.
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance per guidelines.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Work scheduled shifts including holidays, weekends, and on-call as needed.
- Lift at least 25 lbs., push/pull 50 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
- Adapt communication and care to meet diverse patient needs (age, culture, language, disabilities).
Required Qualifications
Education
- Successful completion of a Radiologic Technologist program or a High School diploma or its equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
- ARRT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Additional Information
- Must be willing to cover 1 weekend of on-call obligations if needed
- Every third weekend work required
- Preferred: Knowledge of Epic and HIS/RIS systems
- Team members must adhere to organizational standards of behavior, attendance, and punctuality
This position requires strong technical skills, patient care abilities, and flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and on-call duties.
