Description
CT Technologist - Contract
Location: Long Island City, New York
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
Job Description
- Perform CT procedures using appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
- Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on all CT equipment before patient studies.
- Inject patients with radioactive material following physician orders and prescribed protocols.
- Maintain accurate department documentation including logs, manuals, and charge documents; report equipment issues to comply with regulatory standards.
- Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests adhering to radiation safety guidelines and the ALARA principle.
- Manage patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use and verify receipt and activity levels on delivery day.
- Assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a JCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- New York State License as a Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of CT experience.
