Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Hours: 12 hours/day, 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform diagnostic patient testing including:

  • Electroencephalogram (EEG)
  • Electromyography (EMG)
  • Nerve conduction velocities (NCV)
  • Sensory evoked potentials (EP)
  • Polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP)
• Set up and place equipment in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics
• Calibrate and maintain neurodiagnostic equipment
• Read and score neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests
• Take patient histories
• Instruct patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments
• May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from a program of Neurophysiology
• Minimum of 2 years of EEG Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• EMG Technologist experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Registry eligible or certified in one or more of the following specialty areas:

  • R. EEG T. (Registered EEG Technologist)
  • CLTM (Certified Long-Term Monitoring Technologist)
  • R. EP T. (Registered Evoked Potential Technologist)
  • CNIM (Certified Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring Technologist)
  • RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist)
  • RST (Registered Sleep Technologist)
