Job Overview

• Location: Pompton Plains, New Jersey
• Setting: Hospital-based travel assignment
• Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: PM
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

• Perform routine and ambulatory EEGs, bedside EEGs for adults and pediatrics, and long-term monitoring hookups for inpatient populations.
• Work with patient populations from neonate through adult in settings including ICU and regular floor units.

Required Qualifications

• EEG Technologist with 2 years of experience
• EEG Technologist experience within the last year
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate/certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic Program
• Completion of a clinical Neurodiagnostic internship
• BLS certification within 30 days of start

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MEG procedures
• Previous hospital setting experience
• ABRET R. EEG T certification
• Familiarity with EPIC and NATUS

Key Responsibilities

• Work independently and in a team setting
• Recognize seizure patterns and artifacts
• Provide technologist impressions and communicate pertinent information to physicians
• Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and maintain patient safety
• Apply the 10-20 international electrode placement system and troubleshoot technical issues
• Monitor patients during testing and support emergency response during seizures
• Maintain long-term testing setup, skin integrity, and equipment care
• Complete accurate data collection, logging, clipping, pruning, and archiving
• Communicate respectfully with nursing staff, physicians, and colleagues
