CT Scan Technologist

Overview

  • Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
  • Specialty: CT scan technologist

  • Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
  • Hours: 40 per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
  • CT Technologist (1 year of experience)
  • CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program and high school diploma or equivalent
  • CAT SCAN experience

Experience

  • CT experience preferred: 6 months

Certification Timeline

  • ARRT (CT) certification required within 12 months of hire
  • BLS certification required within 3 months of hire

Schedule Notes

  • Every third weekend
  • Holidays as needed
  • No on-call

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex CT procedures
  • Review patient history and prepare documentation for imaging workflow
  • Prepare and screen contrast questionnaires
  • Administer contrast media as prescribed
  • Verify exam appropriateness and coordinate clarification when needed
  • Obtain outside studies and ensure they are available for comparison
  • Provide exam copies to patients and requesting providers
  • Evaluate radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic value
  • Prepare patients for scanning and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures
  • Lift up to 25 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, and stand at least 6 hours per day
