Description
RN - CSICU - Contract
Job Overview
- Location: New York, New York
- Specialty: Cardiac surgical intensive care unit
- Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, every other weekend
- Hours: 34.5 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- CTICU - Cardiothoracic Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- CTICU - Cardiothoracic Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CCU - Coronary Care experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Associate degree in nursing considered only with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program
- EPIC experience highly preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, competent nursing care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Assess patient needs, prioritize care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Support patient experience through bedside shift report, purposeful hourly rounding, and service recovery
- Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly in compliance with standards
- Participate in quality improvement, safety practices, and professional development
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned
