Description

RN Medicine Specialty

Overview

  • Registered nurse role providing hospital-based care to patients with a range of health problems.
  • Contract length: 13 weeks.
  • Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oklahoma or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
  • 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
  • Med Surg experience.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a Board Approved Program.
  • Willingness to help precept new nurses.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, including changes in physician orders.
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtains and monitors patient physiological data and intervenes when necessary.
  • Administers medication as prescribed and manages intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Provides patient care and communicates care plans and discharge information to patients and families.
  • Informs patients and families of hospital procedures.
  • Makes referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegates tasks to support staff.
