Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT)

Job Summary

Under general supervision, perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties.

Essential Functions

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the exam.
• Review clinical data and obtain additional patient medical history as needed.
• Prepare procedure room and replenish supplies such as linen.
• Analyze patient anatomy, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.
• Administer intravenous contrast media, monitor patients for reactions, and provide immediate care if needed.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment and supplies for procedures; assist Radiologist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures like biopsies.
• Perform imaging procedures following radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques).
• Manage image quality and delivery into PACS; complete study indexing in Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Confirm clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing studies.
• Demonstrate team member standards including communication, positive attitude, innovation, and respect for diversity.
• Complete all necessary documentation in medical records and radiology systems to support clinical and billing functions.

• 13 weeks

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• Work may be in a hospital fixed unit or ambulatory mobile unit.
• Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment; must follow safety precautions.
• Possible exposure to contagious patients.
• Occasional lifting/moving of equipment or patients over 10 lbs.

Education & Certification Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
• BLS certification required.
• Must be registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and have advanced registry or eligibility in Computed Tomography (CT).
