Travel RN - ICU Position

Location: Morristown, New Jersey

Job Overview

This role requires a registered nurse with ICU experience to provide competent and appropriate nursing care in an ICU setting. The nurse will perform thorough patient assessments, deliver direct patient care, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure patient safety and satisfaction. The position involves working collaboratively with the healthcare team and educating patients and families about procedures and care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive and systematic patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver direct patient care and demonstrate competent clinical skills, including emergency procedures and equipment use.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
• Uphold professional practice standards and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Promote patient and family-centered care, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including patient identification and safe transfer techniques.
• Understand and manage conditions, procedures, and equipment specific to surgical patients and anesthesia care.
• Prioritize and direct patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Provide patient education pre- and post-operatively, including assessment of patient understanding.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Requirements

• Specialty: ICU Nursing
• Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience required
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • RN License (Required)
  • BLS (Required)
  • ACLS (Required)
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
