Job Opportunity: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in an oncology infusion clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy drugs, PO and SC injections, and other medications as ordered by physicians.
• Consult with medical personnel and provide expert information about chemotherapy and side effects.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary.
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families.
• Provide chemotherapy-related education to patients and families.
• Schedule patient follow-ups and coordinate care through referrals and phone calls.
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 1 year of infusion experience, including experience within the last year
• Oncology experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
